Black tea is a type of tea that is more oxidized and, generally, more flavorful than oolong, green, or white teas. In China, it is called "red tea" after the color of the brew, but in the West it is called "black tea" for the color of the leaves. Although green tea has recently received increased attention for associated health benefits, black tea accounts for over ninety percent of tea sales in Western countries.
